Free Education Offered to the BioPharma Industry

February 7, 2017

Envirotainer and The Bio Supply Management Alliance (BSMA), the biotech industry advocates of education in supply chain management, will provide free online education designed to secure the quality of temperature sensitive medicinal products during distribution. The collaboration will develop and promote advanced and expert level courses to allow biopharma supply chain stakeholders to become cold chain experts and thus comply with industry training requirements.

Devendra Mishra, Executive Director of BSMA, observed, “The education of supply chain professionals in the end-to-end cold chain operations is one of the most formidable challenges facing biopharma. We critically need training in order to comply with the rigorous, quality and product safety requirement of Good Distribution Practices (GDP).” He added, “It is time that we have a cold chain academy today for nearly 40 percent of all healthcare products are temperature sensitive. It is expected that eight of the top 10 global biopharmaceutical products will require cold chain handling by 2020.”

Chris Fore, the Compliance Manager at Envirotainer said, “Envirotainer has been involved with the BSMA for many years and we share their aspirations. While nearly 10,000 learners from 200 companies have already taken advantage of the Envirotainer academy, our mutual goal is to satisfy all the various stakeholder’s educational needs - whether they are require basic, advanced or expert level knowledge.”
