New station introduces preconditioning for Parcel and ProofTainer solutions, positioned ahead of Navi Mumbai International Airport cargo operations launch.

Envirotainer, the global leader in secure cold chain solutions for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, has announced the opening of a new station in Navi Mumbai, further strengthening its network in one of the world's most important pharmaceutical manufacturing and export hubs.

The facility is Envirotainer's sixth station in India and significantly expands capacity in the country's western pharmaceutical corridor. By doubling the capacity of the company's existing Mumbai operation, the station enhances access to temperature-controlled solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturers, helping ensure medicines and vaccines can move safely, reliably and efficiently to patients around the world.

The new station provides customers with access to Envirotainer's full portfolio of temperature-controlled packaging solutions. It also introduces local preconditioning capabilities for its parcel and ProofTainer solutions, improving preparation times and supporting stronger cold chain integrity from origin. A dedicated repair and service centre is scheduled to open in the coming months, bringing full-cycle cold chain support closer to customers across the region.

Supporting a Critical Global Pharmaceutical Hub

The investment reflects India's growing importance in global healthcare supply chains. As one of the world's largest pharmaceutical producers and exporters, India supplies approximately 20% of the world's generic medicines and 55-60% of UNICEF's vaccine requirements, while pharmaceutical exports reached USD 30.5 billion in 2024-25. As more of these products move across international markets, robust cold chain infrastructure is essential to help ensure medicines and vaccines reach patients safely and reliably.

The station is strategically located to support the western India pharmaceutical corridor and is positioned ahead of the launch of cargo operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport expected later this year. By establishing infrastructure in advance, Envirotainer is ready to support future growth and increasing demand for temperature-controlled pharmaceutical logistics in the region.

Of the station opening, Aymeric Chandavoine, CEO, Envirotainer, said:

"India is one of the world's most important pharmaceutical manufacturing and export hubs, and the responsibility that places on the cold chain is significant. The opening of our Navi Mumbai station reflects our long-term commitment to supporting India's pharmaceutical industry and helping ensure that life-saving treatments reach patients safely, wherever they are."

Edward Ng, Vice President Operations APAC, Envirotainer, added:

"Our customers operate in a complex and fast-moving environment where reliability is critical. By expanding our presence in Navi Mumbai, we are bringing greater capacity, local preconditioning capabilities and enhanced service support closer to one of India's most important pharmaceutical export corridors. This investment helps ensure our customers have access to the solutions and support they need to keep critical shipments moving."
